ABOUT

"Band rocks. Good vocal. "

- Heath Ceccato -

Pictures of Virginia (POV) is an Australian Indie Rock band from Perth, Western Australia. The band was established in 2014 in the eastern suburb of Helena Valley, which is on the foothills of Perth’s Darling range… filled with lush bush and animal life.

The band is named after the colonist state of USA. Virginia is in many ways a “picture” of Western Australia…. Lush green bushland, plenty of native animals, a colonist township for its country, rich culture, founded by the English, both states have a history of slave labour and mistreatment of its indigenous people... but hugely successful with agriculture, exportation, and wine production. The name is in homage to the Australian way of living, where we like to think we have our own trends and mannerisms, yet we seem to carbon copy our American friends.

The POV band members come from an array of backgrounds and influences, from the likes of The Commitments and Bob Dylan, to the old school rock of Pearl Jam and the Aussie Rock of Grinspoon. This broad love of music and of different genres has produced an Album of songs that is highly diverse and progressively builds from one track to another.
