New single, “Downstairs for Dancing”, is out

Updated: Mar 23, 2023

Our new track is now live and the single launch was a big success. Read about the new track and how our single launch unfolded.

Our new track Downstairs for Dancing is a close one to the bands heart. All of our recorded tracks so far have been made in-house but this recording was our first start to finish product. From creating the song, to recording, editing and producing in our home studios and even mastering, this track is our first complete masterpiece.. and you can't help but feel a huge sense of accomplishment and pride in creating content from scratch.

The song follows the story of a young man who is unlucky with love. He finds himself on his phone looking for a date and by the end of the night, he see's himself with no money, no memory and no dignity.

What have you done?... Only thinking with your dick! - Lyrics from Downstairs for Dancing.”

The idea of the track (although we have taken some creative licence to it), came from a close friend who found himself with a lady of the night and spent a lot of money on his "date" which really got him nowhere. We have all had moments in our life, in which we ask ourselves the chorus lyrics to our new song... "What have you done?... Only thinking with your dick!". - The only hope you can ask for is that you learn from your mistakes... and that you can get a kick arse song out of them

SINGLE LAUNCH AT THE SEWING ROOM

To launch the new track, we set out to find the perfect venue and what better venue to launch "Downstairs for Dancing", than to go downstairs into the basement of The Sewing Room! We had a great turnout for the long weekend gig and we were joined by great mates Electric State and Command A Panda. This lineup was a long time coming and we were so stoked to have all these legends sharing the stage with us.

To kick the night off Matt and Adam from Command A Panda put on a solid 40 minute set and that had the crowd going! I'm still getting comments on how well the boys from C.A.P filled the room with such a solid sound and in general the tunes they produce are always top quality.

In a last minute change, Pictures of Virginia actually played second in the lineup. In the words of a very wise man, sometimes it's better to play earlier, as it leaves you time to get on the piss and enjoy the rest of the night... and that's just what we did! We had a fantastic 45 minute gig, we played our entire setlist and even managed to carve out some time for a selfie on stage with the audience before we got back on the turps and enjoyed the last act of the night.... which was the boys from Electric State.

Lead singer Rob Viney was even fighting a cold but it didn't stop him from giving a massive performance on the night. As always with one of their gigs, the boys brought out the big guns, filled the room with a thick sound of distortion and smoke and had the crowd jumping along. In typical Viney fashion, the lead singer also grabbed his wireless mic and went hunting for audience participation, getting people in the crowd to sing and scream the chorus lyrics to their songs.

To say we had a great time at our single launch would be an understatement and we would like to say a huge thanks to The Sewing Room, Electric State, Command A Panda and all of our fans/attendees for rocking up to the gig.
